Overview: Virtually all market has spatial dimension, customer have addresses, shopping pattern, distribution centers, coverage areas and travel modes. Getting to understand then spatial dimension of marking and marketing analysis can enhance a firm’s ability to better serve its customers, improve their outreach and most importantly have competitive advantage in the market.  All of this can be achieved using GIS tools and its capabilities.  Hence the course participants will be exposed to concepts, tools, and methods in understanding marketer behavior, have spatial intelligence or insights into marketing data, marketing analysis, create, maps, chart, graph for data visualization. Emphasis will be placed on the use of case studies and software applications in marketing.

The course is designed for anyone who requires an understanding of basic concepts of marketing.   The training is intended to introduce non experts or experts in marketing to understand how to use GIS tools in solving problems in marketing.
